When my motherhood journey took off, I read and pour over many books, articles and blogs. My instinct always sang true to positive discipline/natural parenting/conscious parenting etc.
However, it has not been an easy journey. When my first born was 18 months and I was pregnant with my second, the hormonal changes and the triggers of autonomy overwhelmed me. While I continued to strive to be a positive parent, I felt I was failing. Two years later I was still feeling that I haven’t got hold of this! Then I discovered a yell free challenge group where I was led to great reading resources and a lot of support.
These past 2 years marked an important change for me; I finally found my groove, my inspiration and while I am (and will never be) not a perfect parent, I can say we have progressed A LOT! Recently I also took a course to become an educator and I am learning while helping others have what support I did not find myself.
